SOCUSD Red Rock Academy

Alternative Learning Environment

We understand that not every child thrives in the same environment and that sometimes there are extenuating circumstances that prevent a child from a traditional school setting. Red Rock Academy was founded by the Sedona-Oak Creek Unified School District with the mission to maintain and continue, in an online environment, the high expectations in education found at Sedona Red Rock High School.

Our highly qualified faculty is excited to provide a distance learning component through online instruction and export to a broader audience the educational principles that have placed Sedona Red Rock High School an excelling high school among Arizona’s top public high schools.

Red Rock Academy is an online school that requires a minimum of 25 hours a week to maintain full-time student status. Unlike our traditional school setting, Red Rock Academy's school year is from July 1 - June 30 without breaks for winter, spring, or summer. Students are required to complete 22 credits to graduate and must be actively learning in order to not be automatically withdrawn. This is an online school without the social interaction of peers. Those enrolled are not eligible to participate in SRRHS athletics or activities with the exception of graduation upon the completion of their credits.

Red Rock Academy delivers an outstanding education and first class customer service to its students at a time and a pace that works best for each individual learner. To learn more about the Red Rock Academy, please call Ms. Mindy Patterson, Director of Red Rock Academy.
