Energy Savings

Commitment to Sustainability

A great asset of Sedona-Oak Creek School District is the stunning natural beauty of our educational environment.  In this setting, we are especially committed to energy management practices that conserve and model efficiency for our students.  The district utilized a Qualified Zone Academy Bond through the U.S. Department of Education to retrofit buildings to save electricity and water.  Click here to see our 2018 energy reduction and three year trends:

Sustainability and STEM

Learning about energy management and savings develops student skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.  STEM learning for all students is a commitment of our Sedona elementary school.  Skills in these areas align to highly valued career skills for Sedona graduates.  Seven out of ten of the fastest growing occupations (requiring at least an Associate's Degree) are in STEM fields.  Click here to learn more!

Fusebox software can be used by administrators but also by teachers with curriculum that can engage students to increase awareness and cultivate energy conscious habits.   Fusebox provides an opportunity for each building to create their own dashboard, goals, energy action plan, competitions, and the ability to share and compare their information with other buildings.
